It is an on-going ministry that serves God’s people on Long Island and beyond. Although the primary purpose of St. Joseph’s Home for the Aged is to assist the elderly with daily living tasks, the existence of this home extends far beyond this simple fact. Inspired by our founding Sisters more than 360 years ago, we continue to respond with loving service to the urgent needs of our neighbors. The first community and school were in Penola in South Australia; and by the time of her death on 8th August 1909 her religious order had spread across Australia and to New Zealand.
